Christ’s Last Words
Matthew 27:46
In Matthew 27:46 Jesus cried out, “My God my God why have you forsake me?” Perhaps God had to loose contact with Jesus and not use his power to save Him because of His love for all man kind he willingly gave His son as an offering to save sinners through His blood. Much like how in Genesis 22:2 how God asked Abraham to give His son Isaac as an offering (execpt later in Genesis 22:12 God said do not sacrifice him) God gave his son as a sacrifice to save us from our sins. In all this Jesus Christ never strayed from the will of God he know what had to be done he did it, he was saying, “It is finished”.
King James Version Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? I found a good translation in a commentary: Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lamasabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why have you abandoned Me-leaving me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need?[Ps. 22:1.]
